The countdown has begun for the National Arts Festival (Grahamstown, 26 June to 5 July).

Artists and curators are hard at work this week, mounting a variety of exhibitions which will provide festinos plenty of soul food as well as issues to chew over and discuss. 

A Year of Living the Best Life

Best Life celebrates one year of publishing excellence with their June issue, after launching into the men’s lifestyle magazine market in 2007. Leading international theatre critics will head up an open

discussion forum during the National Arts Festival

(Grahamstown 26 June to 5 July 2008). Local critics, theatre

practitioners and members of the public will also take part. 

New venue for Joburg’s most happening market.

As a result of its growing popularity, the monthly Zasekhaya Market is moving to a new location at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown from Saturday, 31 May 2008.

WINNERS OF THE ELEVENTH ANNUAL BUSINESS DAY-BASA AWARDS

Companies making innovative and effective use of arts sponsorship were recognized at the Eleventh Annual Business Day-BASA Awards for business sponsors of the arts.   As sponsor of the event, Anglo American hosted the awards on Monday, 26 May 2008 at the Johannesburg Park Station, demonstrating their philosophy of sustained engagement with all facets of our society. Focusing on mutually beneficial business-arts partnerships during 2007, the awards were presented to various businesses in South Africa by Ms. Maria Ramos, CEO of Transnet.

All is ready for SA's 'Monaco' Durban A1 Grand Prix.

South African technology will again be used and a team of local experts will be in charge of access control at the A1 Grand Prix in Durban on 22nd  February 2008. The contract was awarded for two years in 2007 to the world-renowned South African DexSecurity Solutions.
